Some of the key allegations are: that the current governor of Rivers State, Fubara, hires cultists and gunmen to eliminate local government chairmen; these allegations have been made by the former chairman of the Ikwere Local Government Area.
These armed groups led by the governor’s Chief of Staff Edison Ehie are regale in point, the former chairman alleges that these operatives are now attacking local government secretariats, burgling council properties, and instilling fear in people under the clock of performing their so-called governance assignments.
These actions have been cited to have led to incidents such as local government officials and even policemen being shot at by gunman a situation that has worsened the state’s insecurity. The former chairman had used the opportunity to urge the President to respect the Nigerian constitution and attempted to negotiate with him in the worsening condition.
The following are seen as the actualization of the purported activities of the governor that would undermine the security and order in Rivers State and therefore regress the country in the aspect of law and order.
