It is reported that Kolanurse,Olu Jacobs, who is regarded as one of the legends of Nollywood industry is no more. The actor passed on Sunday at the age of 82. He had been suffering dementia for quite some time thus the toll on his health was evident.
His wife, Joke Silva, revealed this in an interview that she granted and she noted on how her husband’s illness has altered him. She poured her heart to explain that the man whom she was married 37 years ago was not the same man whom he was again and again because of his failing health.
Joke Silva said, “It has not been easy at all for I had to come to terms with this new way of life. The husband I married is most of the time not around. ”
However, instead of focusing on the husband’s deteriorations, Silva’s quotes portrayed marriage as happy with glimpses of the husband before he changed. ‘’Before falling sick, he was a great father to our children and simply the most wonderful husband one could imagine; he was like my closest friend’’.
She also says how she still has affection for him and that she is not currently angry with him. “The husband I knew is no longer there for me,” she said, “This man here, yes I do love him but my love is of a different kind. ”
Olu Jacobs was a well-established and a many-time laureate of the indigenous Nigeria’s movie industry. He was blessed with talent and had a several decades long career, which is why his work was always prime examples of the genre.
The news of his death has made many hearts to mourn since the death of this icon who was so dear to not only Nollywood but the entire world. Many fans and friends have come forward to pay their condolences and give description of the life of the actor.
Thus, Olu Jacobs has earned his place in the annals of the film industry and his work will continue to be recalled for many more years. Fortunately, his works in Nollywood are unforgettable and many people will always look forward to his performances.
